Katy Perry (real name Katheryn Hudson) was born and raised in Southern California. Her birthday is Oct. 25, 1984, and her height is 5'7 1/2". Perry began singing in church as a child, and launched her career as Katy Hudson with a self-titled Christian music album in 2001. After adopting the stage name Katy Perry, she released sophomore album 'One of the Boys' in 2008, which reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200. Lead single "I Kissed a Girl" became her first No. 1 on the Hot 100, staying at the summit for seven weeks. Third album 'Teenage Dream' was her first Billboard 200 chart-topper, debuting in the top spot in September 2010. It also earned a Grammy nod for album of the year as well as pop vocal album, and generated multiple No. 1s, including "California Gurls" with Snoop Dogg, "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T." with Kanye West and "Last Friday." Besides Snoop and Ye, Perry has collaborated with many artists, including Daddy Yankee, Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Migos, John Mayer, Juicy J and more. Perry was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2012.
