Drie kunstenaars. Wat hen verbindt, is hun aanpak. Telkens nemen ze eenzelfde uitgangspunt, dat ze verder uitdiepen en vervolgens op een vernieuwende manier uitwerken.  Als een niet aflatende zoektocht naar de limieten en mogelijkheden. Jeanine Cohen vertrekt vaak van het houten canvas. Belangrijke motieven in het werk van Kasper De Vos zijn de industrie, fast food, natuurkrachten en de westerse kunstgeschiedenis. Bij Ode de Kort is de ronde vorm een terugkerend element, maar ook het onderzoek naar de grens tussen fotografie en sculptuur. Het onderscheidt hen en geeft hun werk een zekere herkenbaarheid. Schilderkunst, sculptuur, fotografie en video; samen palmen de drie kunstenaars de galerieruimte in op een verrassende manier.

Jeanine Cohen (°1951)
Jeanine Cohen omschrijft haar werken als schilderijen, maar eigenlijk zijn het houten assemblages die ze aan de achterzijde beschildert met opvallend gekleurde verf. Ze speelt met de eigenschappen van het canvas en het snijvlak tussen 2D en 3D. Zo onderzoekt Cohen concepten als ruimte, tijd en beweging. Haar werken kenmerken zich door een rigide structuur, maar doordat de natuurlijke lichtinval een impact heeft op de kleur, baden zij eveneens in een romantische sfeer.

Kasper De Vos (°1988)
Kasper De Vos verzamelt componenten uit zijn fysieke omgeving zoals beelden, vormen en kleuren en slaat die op in zijn geheugen. Vaak haalt hij er ook zijn materiaal, hetgeen geregeld afval van de mens is. Vervolgens brengt De Vos dit alles in zijn atelier samen tot nieuwe combinaties, wat resulteert in tekeningen, schilderijen, sculpturen en zelfs video. In zijn werken geeft hij kritiek op de consumptiemaatschappij, maar nooit zonder de nodige humor en absurditeit.

Ode de Kort (°1992)
In haar werken Ode de Kort bestudeert de mogelijkheden van het fotografisch medium. Op die manier balanceren ze op de grens tussen fotografie en beeldhouwkunst. Een wederkerend element is de ronde vorm. Deze vorm in combinatie met de specifieke materiaalkeuze geeft haar foto’s, sculpturen, installaties en video’s een gevoel van sensualiteit en esthetiek, zonder dat ze aan complexiteit missen.

Three artists. Their artistic approach is what unites them. Each time they start from the same principle that they elaborate and reinterpreted in a different way. Just like an ongoing exploration of the limits and possibilities. Jeanine Cohen often takes the wooden canvas as a starting point. Important motives in the work of Kasper De Vos are the industry, fast food, nature and the Western art history. Recurring elements in the work of Ode de Kort are round forms and the influence of repetition, but also her research into the boundaries between photography and sculpture. It distinguishes them and adds a certain degree of recognisability to their work. Painting, sculpture, photography and video; together the three artists will occupy the different spaces in the gallery in a suprising way.

Jeanine Cohen (°1951)
Jeanine Cohen describes her works as paintings, but actually they are wood assemblages that she paints at the back with loud colours. She plays with the properties of the canvas and the interface between 2D and 3D. In this way Cohen examines concepts such as space, time and movement. Her works are characterised by a rigid structure, but since the natural light has a strong impact on the colours, they display some romantic qualities as well.

Kasper De Vos (°1988)
Kasper De Vos collects components from his physical environment such as images, shapes and colours and stores/keeps them in his memory. Frequently it is there that he finds his material that is often human waste. Afterwards De Vos brings all of this together in his studio creating new combinations, which results in drawings, paintings, sculptures and even video. His works criticise the consumer society, but never doing this without a sense of humour and absurdity.

Ode de Kort (°1992)
Ode de Kort investigates the possibilities of the photographic medium. That way her works balance between photography and sculpture. A returning element is the round form. This combined with her specific choice of materials gives her photos, sculptures, installations and videos a touch of sensuality and aesthetics, without lacking complexity.
