The Bureau of Land Management is moving quickly to consider and approve a new management plan for Utah’s Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, despite some legal challenges to the preserve’s boundary changes. Conservation groups filed suit after the Trump administration announced it was shrinking the monument last year, but the BLM is still aiming to finish planning within a year, an expedited timeframe.
