Members of the Division come from diverse backgrounds and are committed to multiple facets of clinical care, teaching, advocacy, administration and research. Our practice sites offer exceptional health care services for children of all ages and from a variety of different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Academic scholarship and research are a priority, as is the education and support we provide to our medical students and residents.

General pediatric and adolescent outpatient practices provide a range of experiences in well child care, and both acute and chronic care management in the context of the patient centered medical home. Students and residents have exposure to a variety of pediatric specialties, including allergy/immunology, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, genetics, hematology/oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, pulmonology, rheumatology, child abuse and neglect, and surgery subspecialists.

Faculty physicians are engaged and passionate and provide residents and students with the quality of teaching and guidance that creates innovative leaders and empowers the patients and families for which they provide care.

The Division of General Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine believes that access to healthcare is critical and has community based practices in downtown Augusta, West Augusta, Grovetown and Aiken, SC. This community experience allows learners to hone their primary care practice skills by immersion in all facets of community pediatric care and provides an intimate learning environment with greater learner autonomy and individualized teaching.
