The Food Safety for Food Security is a U.S. government (USG) inter-agency partnership that provides science-based support to strengthen animal and plant health and food safety measures, otherwise known as the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) regulatory systems in Feed the Future (FTF) countries. The FSN does this through three primary work streams including: (i) country level SPS assessments and technical advisory services; (ii) SPS distance learning tools; and (iii) knowledge management.

To date the partnership has strengthened impacts, leveraged resources and improved coordination to meet food safety, public health and trade objectives across more than twenty countries. USAID missions can buy-in to the FSN participatory agency program agreement for country focused technical assistance.
