Every year the area hosts the world-famous Ebert Fest film festival and is a favorite stop for national touring artists, such as Garth Brooks, Lil Wayne, and touring Broadway productions.

The University of Illinois is home to its own Arboretum on nearly 60 acres with paths that weave through beautiful trees, flowers, ponds and more. Additionally, there are several state parks and recreation areas just a short drive away.
