RETAIL AND FOODSERVICE COMPANIES ATTEND FOR FREE
Retailer & Foodservice Registration
- Retail and Foodservice companies are invited to attend for free and the Texas International Produce Association (TIPA) will fund the cost for travel expenses. This includes a free pass into all the receptions and events. TIPA reserves the right to set a limit to funding the travel for retail/foodservice attendees if the number of attendees exceeds three individuals per company (depending on the budget).
- Supermarket Retailer or C-Store Operators: A full-service retail chain that sells food to consumers. Must have at least 3 stores or more. Buyers with single locations are open to inclusion at the discretion of the committee.
- Foodservice Distributor: A company that provides food and non-food products to restaurants, cafeterias, industrial caterers and hotels via multiple physical locations which receive the product and then distributes direct to the aforementioned channels.
- Foodservice Operator: Includes restaurants, hotels, industrial caterers, cafeterias and meal box subscription companies which receive product for final use. Must have at least 3 stores or more. Buyers with single locations are open to inclusion at the discretion of the committee.
- Wholesale Distribution Operators: includes full-service retailer/foodservice distributors that provide comprehensive fulfillment services to retail and foodservice operators through multiple locations and outlets under the parent company. (Does not include buying offices, terminal markets, commission merchants, buying brokers etc.)

In the past, Viva Fresh has received reports about brokers contacting exhibitors to book hotel reservations. These brokers falsely imply they are affiliated with show management and secure full or partial prepayment for their rooms from exhibiting companies. TIPA reminds its exhibitors that we have no affiliation with any of these room brokers. Please do not provide them with any details of your reservation and do not give them your credit card or any personal information.
HOTEL CANCELLATIONS & CHANGES POLICY
Non-Refundable Charge for First Night on each Room
On Monday, February 26th, the credit card on file will be billed a non-refundable charge for the first night of each room reserved. As you know, the Viva Fresh Produce Expo is the region’s premier fresh produce event and hotel rooms are in high demand. Unfortunately, in the last few years Viva Fresh has experienced a significant number of room cancellations in the final days before the event, due to “company overbooking”. This is disappointing because Viva Fresh planners want as many attendees to have access to the event hotel as possible. When excess rooms are booked at the event hotel, it requires other attendees to book at overflow hotels. It’s disappointing to learn near the start of the event that many rooms have been released leaving no time for rebooking without other related fees that include both cancellation and contract block expectations. To continue to maintain a best in class show and reduce cancellation exposure costs, Viva Fresh is focused on ensuring as many show attendees as possible can enjoy the Marriott Marquis’s many great offerings!
