  • Hear from our subject matter experts on how to leverage Simple Syllabus at your institution and some of the best practices we have developed while implementing over 170 different institutions.
  • If you’re unfamiliar with Simple Syllabus and want to learn how schools are using the tool to streamline their current syllabus process on campus and the different benefits it offers your students, faculty and administrators join our Guided Tour session.

1:00 -1:15 Welcome and Introductions

1:15 - 2:00 Hear from your Peers - ​​Discover the trade secrets of syllabus management from institutional leaders around the region. Using a TED Talk format, speakers will share their insights, helpful tips, and how they have overcome challenges on their campuses.

  • Alan Boerngen, Associate Dean of Institutional Assessment | Kaskaskia College. Alan will discuss how they’ve established consistent course outcomes across campus. He will also be joined by his colleagues Jamie Boatright, Instructional Services Coordinator and Jacob Frazier, Application Developer
  • Tracy Sleep, Associate Director | Iowa Community College Online Consortium. Tracy will highlight the innovative ways they manage syllabi across their partner colleges.
  • David Cable, Director, Center for Teaching and Learning and Academic Technology | Kirtland Community College. David presents an overview of how they share their syllabi with their students and prospective students.

2:00 - 2:30 Pair and Share - Break out into small groups with your peers to share and learn from each other’s experiences. Learn innovative strategies and share your own unique experiences in a collaborative break-out style session.

2:30 - 2:45 Break

2:45 - 3:15 Showcasing Course Content - During this live 30-minute session our Subject Matter Expert (SME) will focus on storing and displaying course level content in your Simple Syllabus site. Learn how your institution can create stand-alone documents that provide the reader with important course details without providing instructor-specific content.

2:45-3:15 Guided Tour - Not a current user of Simple Syllabus, join this session to learn how Simple Syllabus can help faculty save time, improve the learning experience, and streamline accreditation activities at your institution.

3:15 - 3:45 Pair and Share - Another opportunity to break out into small groups with your peers to share and learn from each other’s experiences. Learn innovative strategies and share your own unique experiences in a collaborative break-out style session.

3:45 - 4:00 Closing Remarks - Final exchange of ideas, recap of the day’s events, and update on upcoming events/news.
