Moving Your Adobe Assets A How-To Guide for Graduating Students

If you’re getting ready to graduate (congrats!), you may be wondering how you can take all the beautiful things you created at school using Adobe with you. We’re here to answer that question. The process looks a little different depending on what it is you’re moving, so we’ve laid out all the details, by application (arranged in alphabetical order), so you can move anything from a few images you created using Adobe Express to an entire Creative Cloud library. A few important notes:

  • For whatever you’re moving, previous collaboration-related components (comments, sharing invitations, versioning information, ratings, etc.) will not come along for the ride.
  • All processes require you to log into your School Account. If you can no longer access your School Account, you will need to ask your school admin to reactivate it.
  • For processes that involve moving items from a School Account to a new Personal Account, you will need to first establish a Personal Account.
  • Creative Cloud apps are a paid service. Publishing is not supported for Creative Cloud Free membership accounts. Keeping assets published requires purchasing a plan.
  • If you encounter any challenges along the way, please reach out to your school’s IT department.

Acrobat Files

Simple! Download your documents from your School Account by selecting a file and clicking Download in the right pane. Then, if desired, upload them to your Personal Account.

Behance

There is no direct way to move Behance content from one account to another. As a work-around, you can create a new profile and then do the following:

  1. Sign in to Behance with your Personal Account (non-school) and navigate to the Profile page. Note your Behance handle, as you'll need it later. For example, in the URL https://behance.net/ABCD789, ABCD789 is your handle.
  2. In another browser, sign into Behance using your original School Account.
  3. Navigate to a project you want to share. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Add Co-owners, Credits, and More link at the bottom of the Settings dialogue box.
  5. In the Co-Owners field, enter the Behance profile name of your new profile and click Done. Then click Update Project.
  6. In your new profile’s browser window, you'll receive a notification. Accept the invite to join the project as a co-owner. You will be able edit the project, and it will also appear in your portfolio.

Creative Cloud Libraries

You have two options: 1) you can use the Libraries Panel to export your library file; 2) you can use the Creative Cloud sharing and collaboration feature.

Via Library Panel Export: This process will enable you to export your entire library. Then, you can archive it or import it into a Personal Account.

  1. Open the Libraries Panel inside any Creative Cloud App (via your School Account).
  2. Select the library that you want to export.
  3. Click the More Options Menu in the upper-right corner of the Libraries Panel.
  4. Select Export <Library Name>.
  5. Click Select Folder, choose a location, and then save your library.
  6. Click Export. A copy of your library is now available on your local device.
  7. To import into a new account, open the Libraries Panel inside any Creative Cloud app (via your new account).
  8. Click the More Options Menu in the upper-right corner of the Libraries panel.
  9. Select Import Library.
  10. Click Select Library, and select the.cclibs file that you want to import.
  11. Click Import.

If you're in the same browser, you won't be asked to sign in again. Verify that the libraries are copied to Your Libraries section in your Personal Account.
