Children's urgent need for help in South Sudan

Highlights

This humanitarian crisis is the worst crisis South Sudan has gone through since its independence in 2011. The total number of people in need of humanitarian assistance has fluctuated over the years between 6 and 7.5 million people. But it has never reached 8.3 million until now. Similarly, the number of children in need of humanitarian assistance – 4.5 million – has never been so high.
