PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL

  • Appeared in 36 games with the Grizzlies as a rookie in 2022-23, averaging 2.2 points and 1.6 assists in 7.8 minutes per game with a 3.2 assist/turnover ratio.
  • Selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 38th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and his rights were immediately acquired by the Memphis Grizzlies via a draft-night trade.
  • During the 2022 NBA Draft Combine, Chandler posted the highest max vertical leap among all participants at 41.5 inches.

  • Finished the season with team-high averages in points (13.9), assists (4.7) and steals (2.2) per game.
  • Had 161 total assists that led to 392 points; along with his 473 points scored, had a hand in 33.6 percent of Tennessee's scoring on the year (865 of 2,571).
  • His 161 total assists were third-most among Division I true freshman in 2021-22.
  • His 74 total steals were: 1) eighth-most among all Division I players in 2021-22; 2) the most among all Division I freshman in 2021-22; 3) second-most on Tennessee's all-time single-season steals list (four shy of the record); 4) the most ever by a Tennessee freshman.
  • Totaled four or more steals in nine different games over the course of the season, including a school-record-tying seven.

  • Started the season-opener against UT Martin (11/9/21) as the Vols' point guard and shot 4-for-4 from 3-point range in his collegiate debut to finish with a game-high-tying 20 points and a team-high-tying four assists.
  • Was the only true freshman in the country named to the 20-man preseason watch list for the Bob Cousy Award, presented annually to the nation's top college point guard.
  • Also landed on the Wooden Award watch list, the Lute Olson National Player of the Year preseason watch list and the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy watch list.

SUMMER 2021

  • Helped lead the USA Basketball Men's U19 Team to the gold medal at the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup in Riga, Latvia, in July.
  • Saw action in all seven games and logged the fourth-most minutes on the squad (19.7 mpg) while averaging 7.7 points, 3.4 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals.
  • Shot .420 from the field (21-50) and .391 from 3-point range (9-23).
  • Also boasted a 1.7 assist/turnover ratio.

HIGH SCHOOL

  • Graduated from Sunrise Christian Academy, in Bel Aire, Kansas, where he was coached by Luke Barnwell.
  • A consensus five-star prospect, he was rated by ESPN as the nation's top point guard in the Class of 2021.
  • Was rated by ESPN as the No. 12 senior in the country, which made him the third-highest-rated prospect to ever sign with the Vols since ESPN began its recruiting database in 2007; only Tobias Harris (No. 6) in 2010 and Scotty Hopson (No. 9) in 2008 earned a higher national rating from The Worldwide Leader.
  • Earned McDonald's, Spalding and Sports Illustrated All-America honors as a senior in 2020-21, was the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Kansas and also was a finalist for the MaxPreps National Player of the Year Award and top-10 semifinalist for the Jersey Mike's Naismith High School Trophy for Boys Player of the Year Award.
  • Earned second-team status on the Naismith National High School All-American Boys Team.
  • Also was named the 2020-21 MaxPreps Kansas High School Basketball Player of the Year.
  • Led Sunrise Christian to its first-ever appearance in the GEICO Nationals Tournament and helped the Buffs advance to the 2021 final with wins over Prolific Prep (Calif.) and IMG Academy (Fla.) at the event in April.
  • Finished with a game-high 25 points, to go along with five rebounds and five assists, in the Buffaloes' GEICO Nationals semifinal win over IMG.
  • In 13 games of NIBC play as a senior, he averaged 14.8 points, 6.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game while shooting 57 percent from the field, 50 percent from beyond the arc and 94 percent from the free-throw line.
  • Named to USA Basketball's 2021 USA Nike Hoop Summit Team on March 25, 2021, however, the event was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Earned back-to-back Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a sophomore and junior at Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis.
  • As a junior at Briarcrest in 2019-20, Chandler averaged 22.2 points, 4.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game during a pandemic-shortened season.
  • Prior to his junior campaign, he elevated his recruiting status during the spring and summer of 2019 on the highly competitive Nike EYBL circuit, where he averaged 15.1 points, 6.0 assists and 4.2 steals in 20 games with the MoKan Elite program.
