To be eligible to apply, you must meet the following criteria:
Have at least a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Be a student in good academic standing, that has been accepted to, or enrolled at, the University of North Georgia at the time of application. This includes:
New Freshman students from all UNG campuses
Dual & joint enrollment students from all UNG campuses
Transient students (You are enrolled in another college or university and seek temporary admission to UNG)
Transfer students (permanently transferring to UNG)
As an ROTC cadet you are eligible to apply for a scholarship if you meet the following:
Are you an undergraduate or graduate student on track to commission through the Army, Naval, or Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC), contracted or non-contracted, at a regionally accredited college or university in the United States?
If you are a current or incoming ROTC cadet for the UNG Corps of Cadets, you fall into this category.
Are you a U.S. citizen?
If you answered yes to both questions, you are eligible to apply for the Project GO scholarship to attend SLI at UNG!
Application Process and Deadlines:
Your application process and deadline varies dependent on your status - incoming or current.
Incoming Pre-Freshman UNG Cadets
Includes incoming frogs who have been accepted and committed to attend UNG as an ROTC cadet but have not yet begun classes (will start classes spring/summer/fall 2024). You should apply by completing the SLI application (follow the steps under "Newly Accepted Student" above and then "Ready to Apply?" below).
If you've already gone through all the steps to for a newly accepted student or have already been taking classes at UNG, you may apply for the Summer Language Institute. See "Ready to Apply?" below.
If you've completed all the required steps above according to your student status, (current ROTC Cadets - apply through the National Project GO web site), you are ready to apply.
