Act exists to make neighborhood safety a normal reality for everyone.

To do this, we equip brave residents to fight crime on their streets using the civil justice system.

The Problem.

All throughout our city, residents feel like prisoners in their own home because of violence and crime that spills out from a building next door or across the street.

How We Respond.

Mobilize

We connect residents with one another and educate them on their right to live in a safe neighborhood.

Resolve

We pair residents with attorneys so that, together, they can hold the owner of the property accountable and resolve the criminal activity.

Equip

We give local leadership the tools and support they need to continue taking back their neighborhood from crime and violence.

“Growing up, danger was pretty much everywhere. I saw criminal activity and reported it to the cops, but that was it. We didn’t know where to go from there. We just want our community to feel like a community.”

— L.P. - West Dallas Resident

“One of the most common issues that I deal with in neighborhoods like these are people who live next to drug dealers. Petty theft and petty crime start happening around the drug house. You get late night traffic, people shooting at all hours of the day and night, and it just creates a huge divide in the neighborhood.”

— P.Y. - Dallas Police Officer

“When I was growing up, this neighborhood was a very quaint, well-kept neighborhood. People took care of their properties, didn't have a lot of the issues that we have now.”

— L.H. - Oak Cliff Resident
