The Ponderosa Press
A note from your principal Mrs. Choate
End of the Year Countdown!
Parents,
We are on the countdown to the end of the year! The last day of school is May 24th. It is a full day of school packed with fun activities.
Our school will be celebrating all of our students at a parade that starts on our Pacer Track at 11:00. This is followed by our school picnic. Families are encouraged to join us for both events. A sack lunch can be ordered through our lunch room for any student. Please let the classroom teacher know before the last day of school if you plan on ordering.
If your child ordered a yearbook, they will be distributed at the end of the day on the 23rd. They will have time to gather signatures at our school picnic.
Our field day is on Tuesday. We still need volunteers. Please see the link below if you are able to help out.
As always, if you have any questions, let me know.

Have you heard about our Book Vending Machine?
Our book vending machine is a magical device that dispenses books to students at the push of a button! This new addition was made possible by the hard work of Hailey Michalk and with funds from the West Ada Education Foundation Creativity grant and our PTA. Students can get tokens for free books by achieving a 10% gain from their Fall to Spring i-Station score or by completing a library reading challenge! This is a great initiative to encourage students to read more and develop a love for books!
Attendance Matters
Attendance is very important. Please make sure your child is at school and on time, every day unless they are unable to attend due to illness. Every tardy and every absence can add up quickly and put your child behind.
All students need to be picked up by 4:10 each day. The school office will close at 4:15.
