Meal Applications
Please read the information below. Dear Tracy Unified Families, The State of California established a Universal Meals Program, effective July 1, 2022, requiring school districts to offer one free breakfast and one free lunch to all students each school day. The legislation mandates that school sites where more than 40% of enrolled students participate in county assistance programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or CalWORKs, must operate a federal meal provision program. While meals are free for all students, the District still needs to collect household information from each family to maximize State funding available for educational programs.
The District understands that filling out these forms seems unnecessary since meals are free for all students, but collection of this information is crucial and can provide several benefits to TUSD schools and to eligible families such as:

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/USDAOASCR%20P-Complaint-Form-0508-0002-508-11-28-17Fax2Mail.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling 866-632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
