ABOUT

Here you will find art projects for your student to do while we are away from the school building. I have videos with demonstrations of art techniques as well as other resources for students. Students should choose at least one activity to do each week. Click on your student(s) grade level to get started! Students can choose to do activities from different grade levels.

Meet the Teacher

Hello!

My name is Taylor Runyan and I am the new art teacher at Lesslie! I graduated from Winthrop University in 2016 with my BA in Art History, minor in Studio Arts and in 2017 with my MAT in Art Education. I began teaching in 2017 in Lancaster, SC before coming to Lesslie. My husband is also a teacher at Saluda Trail Middle School. I am excited to teach your child about the visual arts and believe that all children are creative and unique! I also believe in exposing children to as many art materials and techniques as possible so students will be introduced to clay, painting, print-making, sculpture and many others throughout the year.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if there is anything you need! I look forward to working with your young artist(s) this year!

Art is a place for children to learn to trust their ideas, themselves, and to explore what is possible.
