We will be baking Norwegian Vaffler with Lingonberries on site, as well as selling pre-packaged baked goods and Norwegian knit items and collectibles.

- Church service at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, celebrating their 135th anniversary. Wear your most festive Norwegian sweater or bunad.  
- Polar Star's Norwegian Choir will be singing at the service. Come early at 8:30 for rehearsal.
- Immediately after the service, an anniversary "coffee" reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall. In honor of the event, please bring a Norwegian dessert to share.

Regular Meetings - Polar Star Lodge meets on the 1st Sunday of the month. Our potluck luncheon is at 1:30, followed immediately by a monthly program and the business meeting. Please bring a dish to pass and your own table service. When applicable, the Norwegian Literature group and any other Norwegian cultural groups meet before the luncheon.

Annual Høstfest
Held annually the first Sunday in November.  This year it would heve been held on Sunday November 7, 2021, but it has been cancelled again this year due to Covid considerations. 

Kitchen Host Instructions for Monthly Pot Luck Luncheons- At least two members/families are needed to serve on the kitchen committee for each regular meeting. Join in by volunteering for one time each year.

• Chairperson needs to contact other members of your committee to complete your plans ahead of time.
• The committee normally supplies the meat or main dish, and 1/2 gallon 2% milk. All other members are asked to bring a pot luck dish to share.
• Arrive at hall 1½ hours prior to the meeting time.
• Set up 6-8 round tables with 6-8 chairs each.
• Make the coffee (for 50-60 cups: use ½ pound of coffee with cold water). Be sure to start the coffee immediately when you arrive since it takes at least one hour to brew. Coffee is provided by the lodge and is stored in the lodge cabinet - check coffee inventory the meeting before. If necessary, purchase coffee and you will be reimbursed.
  **Coffee: (Usually taken care of by President Ken Johnson.)
  1) Fill urn with cold water. Do not immerse urn or cord in water! 
  2) Pour coffee into basket. For 55 cups, use 3-1/2 cups ground coffee.
  3) Plug in urn. When it has finished brewing, remove basket with grounds
• Provide table decorations according to season. There may be some napkins and placemats in the cabinet in the storage room – check for inventory the meeting before.
• Set up the buffet table (2 long tables). Arrange the food on the table as it comes in. Include a basket at the front end for donations.
• Set up an entry table in the hall for the sign-in book.
• Set up the podium and the three flags in the front of the room. The U.S. flag on the left as you face the podium.
• After everyone has eaten, wash bowls, dishes, serving spoons, etc. as needed, and clean up the area. Use our lodge dish towels (in storage room).
• One person from the committee needs to take the dish towels home, wash them, and then bring them back to the next meeting.
• Return all chairs and table to their proper places.
• If it becomes inconvenient for you to serve at your scheduled time, please exchange with someone or find a substitute.
