Student Research Week (SRW), hosted March 18-22, is the largest student-run research symposium in the nation and you have an opportunity to participate. Registration is now open for faculty and staff members interested in helping judge presentations. There are two different types of judges:
- Topic Judge: Experts in the subject area that will assess each presentation for content, methodology and sound conclusions of the work. Topic judges must have a relevant degree equal to or beyond the student competitor.
- Layman Judge: Scholars who will not have a deep knowledge of the subject area and will assess presentations based on overall delivery, communication and presentation skills.
Judges are scheduled based on their availability, are matched to students within their field of expertise and play a crucial role in SRW by providing valuable feedback to competitors. Faculty and staff may register to serve as either a topic or layman judge through March 1. Additionally, if you know any individual students or student groups who could benefit from participating in Student Research Week, encourage them to register for free by March 1. Learn more about Student Research Week online or email the executive team for additional details at srw@tamu.edu.
