Night at the Museum (NATM), our annual fundraising event, is planned for October 8th and coincides with the start of the yearly AACA Hershey Fall Meet. This year’s theme is Hot & Cool: “Incomparable moments from the road.” We’re featuring seven storied vehicles from our 200+ vehicle collection. Among them are:
- 1911 Stevens-Duryea
- 1946 Flxible Clipper motor coach
- 1947 Cushman Model 56A with utility sidecar
- 1948 Tucker Corporation test chassis
- 1959 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight convertible
- 1965 Pontiac GTO

Along with sharing compelling stories, Night at the Museum celebrates the mission and accomplishments of preserving and presenting automobiles and transportation history. The event provides the perfect platform to honor and recognize individuals who have exceptionally contributed to the automotive hobby.

Great food, cocktails, and entertainment
The evening kicks off at 5:00 PM with a reception featuring the music of solo looping artist Danny Spec and plenty of time to connect with friends. Following the reception, C&J Catering provides an expertly prepared dinner at 6:00 PM. JazzMe rhythm & blues band performs live throughout the evening. Guests can expect a music mix spanning decades, an engaging program, and a unique silent auction as we celebrate our emerald anniversary.
Honoring those who make it all possible
In addition to celebrating the museum’s accomplishments, NATM is a night to show our deep gratitude for those who support museum efforts. Our prestigious AACA Museum, Inc. Automotive Heritage Award honors one individual each year. This year’s award is presented posthumously to Richard O. Ullman. Also, we recognize our soon-to-be-announced 2024 class of William H. “Bill” Smith Fellows. Each is honored for his/her commitment to museum advancement.
AACA Museum, Inc. Automotive Heritage Award Honoree:
This year the AACA Museum, Inc. Automotive Heritage Award honoree is Richard O. Ullman. Mr. Ullman, who passed away in 2011, was a successful entrepreneur, founding two successful enterprises, National Prescription Administrators, Inc. and Benecard Services, Inc. He was a devoted family man and believed strongly in “giving back.” As a young man, he never drove the same car for long, always looking for another project car that he could turn into something special. He simply loved his cars and turned his passion into a lifelong hobby, building a wonderful collection. He generously supported the museum in many ways, and the Richard O. Ullman Family Foundation Gallery is named in his honor. Mr. Ullman’s family will accept the award on his behalf.
Who benefits from Night at the Museum?
The easy answer … everyone. As a Smithsonian Affiliate, the museum offers visitors a world-class transportation experience through interactive exhibits, educational opportunities, entertaining events, and hands-on activities. Dedicated to education and preserving transportation heritage, the museum was opened in 2003. As we reach the 20th-anniversary milestone, the museum continues to flourish as one of the top automobile museums in the United States.
