SOMI Athlete Led Cooking Class

  Athlete-led Cooking Class Starting November 3rd, SOMI athlete and U.S. Health Messenger Kayla Cornell will be hosting a VIRTUAL cooking class!! The class will be offered in two different sessions, so go ahead and sign up for the time that works best for you. The program is 7 weeks long, meeting every Tuesday from either 3:30-4:30 or 5:30-6:30 pm. This class is virtual, and will be meeting on Zoom. WSU Opportunity for Families of Students with ASD

  Hello!       We hope this email finds you and your family healthy and well! We are reaching out with a new and exciting health and physical activity research program opportunity for your child and family.       Dr. Leah Ketcheson and the Center for Health and Community Impact at Wayne State University was awarded $500,000 from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund to launch PLANE (Physical Literacy and Nutrition Education), a two-year nutrition and physical activity program aimed at promoting positive trajectories of health and well-being for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Our program will be online for year 1 (due to the Coronavirus Pandemic), with in-person programming in year 2.       Our goals are to increase physical activity participation, improve nutrition behaviors, and build engagement in social support and services.
