About Skate DSM
Skate DSM is a volunteer-led 501c3 nonprofit organization. We formed the organization in 2018 with the primary goal of growing and supporting the skateboarding community in Des Moines. Since then we have launched several programs to achieve these goals. Our Push Start clinics introduce kids to skateboarding by teaching them the fundamentals. The Get on Board project will provide skateboards and helmets to hundreds of kids in the metro. We also host events like the Des Moines Streetstyle Open throughout the metro to keep the community stoked on skateboarding.
Announcement
Skate DSM launched the Get on Board Project in 2022 with the simple goal of getting more kids on skateboards, regardless of their financial means. We provide free skateboards, and helmets, to eligible students in the Des Moines area, regardless of their means. Eligible students can apply for the program at the link below.
