Youth Apprenticeship Program

"The Youth Apprenticeship Maryland pilot program in Frederick County is an important and exciting new avenue for investment in the skills and talent of the next generation of Frederick County workers,"

The Youth Apprentice Program is designed to create paid career opportunities for Frederick County Public Schools' Juniors and Seniors that extend beyond high school.  FCPS students "Earn while they Learn" at a worksite alongside a mentor with a training plan.


​Apprenticeship is a win-win for businesses and the apprentice alike.  Employers who establish an apprenticeship are investing in their business with reduced turnover costs, increased job satisfaction and employee productivity.


This program is a joint effort of FCPS and the Maryland Department of Labor to build Frederick County's workforce with skilled labor.
