Here is the summary report from 21-22 work within MTREC.

MTREC 2021-22 Summary Report.pdf

MTREC closed out the 21-22 school year with an April and a June convening.

We gathered to focus on relationship building and meaningful participation while also celebrating Black Excellence.  In addition we were able to hear more ideas on furthering our actions and where we are headed in the next school year.

Thank you to all who joined us.

At the second MTREC Coalition convening that occurred Feb. 10, 2022:

We were excited to honor students and staff to celebrate Black Excellence.

In addition, updates were shared about work being proposed at the state level by our IYT partners.  Then, we reviewed progress on our action plan within the region and gathered feedback.  This was followed by information regarding discipline and strategies being used to reduce suspensions and incorporate proactive and preventative steps along with restorative practices.  The coalition was able to provide feedback.

We are looking forward to continuing our site based group work and working with the equity coalition to develop an equity scorecard for our region.

We are grateful to all who were able to join us in this work.

We are excited that our MTREC Coalition continues this 2021-2022 school year.

Where did we leave off and what are we doing and planning for this year so far:

The third meeting was scheduled and opened in zoom on:  Nov. 30, 2021 (virtual) but will be rescheduled due to lack of attendance unfortunately.  Stay tuned.

Spring and Summer work 2021

As a result of the work from our Listening Sessions and Coalition work last year, here are just some of the things we working on in the region and at MTHS:

Regional:

Site specific at MT:

Fall 2020 - Coalition Began

Listening Sessions - January - March 2021

To better inform the priorities and actions of the Monterey Trail Regional Equity Coalition, including region-wide and site specific strategies, by hearing from key stakeholder groups.

Listening Sessions have concluded and we are excited to continue work with our partners at Innovation Bridge.  Last spring we learned more about the findings and determined some next steps after meetings with the Coalition on April 22, 2021 followed by a deeper dive on May 13, 2021.  Thank you to all who have given us your authentic feedback to help us in this important work.
