MTHS Programs & Electives

Welcome MTHS Community!

Thank you for visiting and checking out what MTHS has to offer. The information here will help students make decisions on their course selection for the next school year.  Students are encouraged to strike a healthy balance between challenging coursework, exploring interests and home-school commitments.

Monterey Trail Guide to Course Selection

Students will be best prepared for Course Selection through activities and events leading up to Course Selection in February.  MTHS community events are open to all current and future Mustang students and families. Please see what we have in store for our current 9th - 11th graders and current EHMS 8th graders joining us on the Trail.

Any new students enrolling into MTHS after February course selection dates will be invited to complete course selection at a later date by the MTHS School Counseling Department.

Academic Advising In- Classroom Lessons & Small Group Workshops

Current students develop and revisit their Four Year Plan Google Doc, an individual planning tool for Course Selection. These sessions are led by school counselors each year, for all grade levels, 9 - 11.

Students explore available programs and electives for their next grade level. Credit recovery and/or acceleration/enrichment options are discussed as students monitor their progress toward graduation and four year college (a-g) eligibility using their transcript and StudentVUE resources.

Trailivision Promos in MTHS Advocacy class

Trailivision is our school broadcast channel, produced by Digital Media Arts (DMA) students. All month, promos will feature elective courses students may sign up for at Course Selection.
