Elk Grove Unified School District believes that family and community engagement is a fundamental component to student success and achievement. When district and school staff build authentic relationships and encourage collaboration, it creates a culturally responsive mindset, which fosters trust and produces a welcoming environment. We will increase confidence and collaboration in EGUSD by providing opportunities to partner with all families and the community in ways that support both the academic success and the social/emotional wellness of every student.

The EGUSD First Foundation is a newly created nonprofit focused on improving resources for students and teachers. The foundation will raise funds to fill gaps in resources for students/teachers and support various activities such as newcomer resource centers, STEM/STEAM, Visual & Performing Arts, and mini-grants for classroom projects. The foundation will also collaborate with local businesses and organizations to provide additional services and resources to the community and intentionally support our most vulnerable communities to ensure they have what they need to achieve success.

If you have any questions about EGUSD FIRST Foundation, please email Lysette Lemay, Community Partnerships Coordinator, Department of Family and Community Engagement.

El Santuario de Mariposas (The Butterfly Sanctuary) is a Spanish Speaking Affinity Group in EGUSD. The purpose of this affinity group is to provide a healthy and safe space for our Spanish-speaking families in EGUSD where they will be heard in their native language, where we can unify across the district and build community to better support our children and families in the Elk Grove Unified School District.
