Scholarships
Ford Fund is investing $2 Million to support automotive technicians entering the industry.
The scholarship is applied to a student's school tuition account and may be used for all cost of attendance, including tuition, tools, living expenses and transportation, removing significant financial barriers for students.
Ford Auto Tech Scholarship
Deadline to apply: August 31, 2024
Applicants are encouraged to apply ASAP! Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis - that means that the sooner you apply, the sooner you may be awarded!
This scholarship is available to students who are interested in pursuing auto tech certifications or two-year degrees.
Any individual (high school graduates, career-changing adults, veterans, reskill, etc.) pursuing a degree or certificate in automotive technology (including diesel) in the greater areas listed on the right and shown in the map below. Students must demonstrate financial need to apply.
Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or approved DACA status
Be an enrolled future student -or- an active, current auto, diesel or auto/diesel student at a post-secondary Institution in good standing

2024 James W. Tyra Scholarship Program - Qualifications
STUDENT ELIGIBILITY:
•2024 Graduating Senior
•Top 25% of graduating class
•Demonstrate financial need: Annual household income per family not to exceed $84,480.
•Be recommended by school counselor or principal
•Must be enrolled as full-time student and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0
•Attending a public high school inside our trade area that is addressed in our Community Reinvestment Act Notice and the bank’s CRA Public File
•Eligibility exception(s) permitted on a case by case basis and Committee vote

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP:
•Maximum of $1,500 per year with a limit of $750 per semester to be paid directly to the financial office of school. Failure to enroll by fall semester 2024 constitutes forfeiture of all rights to the scholarship. Renewable for up to three additional years.
The Links, Incorporated is a national organization of African American women who have united for community service and leadership since 1946. The Dallas (TX) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, was founded in 1957. Since 1975, to encourage college attendance, the Dallas (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, has awarded approximately $495,500 in scholarships to 497 graduating seniors, who are Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color, who have demonstrated financial need and superior academic achievement. The Links, Incorporated, scholarship is open to graduating seniors who meet the criteria listed below. There will be one (1) first place scholarship award in the amount of $5,000.00. Other scholarships of lesser amounts may be awarded. The first-place scholarship, as well as any additional scholarships (if awarded); will be sent directly to the college upon verification of enrollment. The Links, Incorporated semi-finalist scholarship Zoom (virtual) interviews will be held on April 20th and 21st, 2024. The Links, Incorporated, scholarship awards will be presented during a reception and ceremony at a location to be determined.
The application is due by March 1, 2024.
Semi-finalists will be selected and notified via email for mandatory Zoom (virtual) interviews, which will be conducted on April 20th or 21st, 2024.

Scovell Scholarship for Senior Student-Athletes
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Graduating high school senior
Attend an accredited and approved collegiate institution in the state of Texas in the upcoming fall semester
Show leadership abilities
Demonstrate a connection to sports. There are many ways to be connected to sports without performing on the field. Previous recipients have included members in the marching band, athletic trainers, and cheerleaders/drill team
Present evidence of a financial need
Be a United States citizen
** If you haven’t enrolled/been accepted to a college yet, you may still apply for the Scovell Scholarship. However, the eventual awarding of the scholarship will require verification of enrollment in a college or university in the state of Texas.
Applications are due March 1st.
The Terry Foundation Scholarship Program provides scholarships for Texas residents to support their goals of earning a college degree. The four-year scholarship covers tuition, fees, books, and on-campus living expenses – it is a full cost-of-attendance scholarship! Plus, there is an opportunity for an additional study abroad stipend. That’s over $100,000 of free money for your education!
To apply and qualify for the Terry Scholarship, you must:
· Have a record of leadership in community, school, work, or other organizations
· Show financial need
· Have strong academic abilities, as evidenced by grades and optional* SAT/ACT scores
· Complete your application to UT Arlington as a full-time student for Fall 2024.
· Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA-eligibility for need-based aid is not a requirement to receive the scholarship)
· Be willing to live on campus for the first academic year (2024-2025)
· Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a resident of Texas
*Please be advised that UTA is test score optional for admission through summer 2023 and scores are currently not considered for the Terry Scholarship.
The Terry Scholarship Application requires:

· Must accept admission into UTA by January 12th

TheDream.US National Scholarship is for DREAMers who are first-time college students wanting to attend in the Fall of 2024 at UNT Dallas as incoming freshmen, transferring students, or current UNT Dallas students intending to earn a bachelor’s degree. This opportunity is open to undocumented immigrant students, with or without DACA or TPS, who came to the U.S. before the age of 16 and before Nov. 1, 2017. The scholarship award is up to $33,000 for a bachelor’s degree.

Texas Leadership Scholars program requirements:
Demonstrated financial need, as evidenced by FAFSA or TASFA (must be TEXAS Grant eligible).
Graduating High School Senior from an accredited Texas High School.
Scholastic record and ability.
Evidence of leadership and service within your high school and community.
Accepted to a participating 4-year institution.
Complete Application Process and receive recommendation from a teacher, counselor, coach, etc. from their graduating high school.
How do I recommend a student for the program?
Please review the application process to ensure the student you want to recommend meets the eligibility criteria.
On November 1 or later, you can complete and submit the Application Link Request and we will send the application to your school email as listed on the request.
You will then share this link with your student(s), and they can then begin the application process.
