Description

The Commercial Real Estate Consultant is responsible for generating opportunities and supporting our real estate, project management and influencer community partners; through building and maintaining mind share and positive relationships with assigned firms, introducing them to Red Thread, Steelcase’s global trends and Integrated Interiors strategy and our breadth of services, keeping them up to date and educated on our primary product lines and service capabilities.

Job Functions:

  • Work with Red Thread Management to formulate/implement strategy to identify, educate and support opportunities from the Influencer Community.
  • Establish yourself as primary contact for Red Thread with assigned firms, develop relationships with key influencers, find and qualify new opportunities, become fully versed in the firm’s organization structure, find new opportunities to partner with the firm at industry events and maximize your relationship to further sales and business opportunities with Red Thread.
  • Learn and demonstrate a deep understanding of our influencer customers and their issues
  • Understand and effectively communicate how Red Thread can support our customer’s critical business issues and objectives. Schedule and deliver presentations to assigned firms on Red Thread’s value, global trends and integrated interior products and services.
  • Work to position our solutions on specifications to position Red Thread as the dealership of choice.
  • Manage the tracking and coordination of projects & leads generated from assigned firms from inception through completion. Work in collaboration with the sales team (inclusive of internal design & project management) to ensure that client’s expectations are being met. Work with the assigned salesperson and with all stakeholders to develop the strategy
  • Schedule and conduct client tours of Red Thread and Steelcase showrooms
  • Assist with preparation of proposals & bids (information gathering, pricing, etc.) for projects generated from your influencer firms and leads. Ensure our products/ solutions are included in RFP. Stay involved throughout the presentation process (be the link between sales and the influencer(s)
  • Create and maintain account plan/strategy for each influencer firm, tracking execution and results
  • Track project wins/losses
  • Partner with marketing and other Strategic Alliances colleagues on event planning/coordination and execution
  • Direct responsibility for executing a variety of events to include planning, participation, organization, coordination, and execution of all relevant aspect to ensure objectives are met and execution is flawless. Attend meetings, tradeshows and industry related events as a representative of Red Thread in an effort to engage new clientele and increase corporate visibility.
  • Participate in a variety of planning committees for both Red Thread and industry events


Qualifications:

Skills & Abilities:

  • A&D, Real Estate, Project Management or furniture dealership experience highly desired
  • Demonstrates a good grasp of influencer industry challenges and obstacles in the New England Marketplace
  • Previous experience as a trainer, educator or presenter preferred
  • Knowledge of the processes/key concerns common to all businesses
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Ability to work independently and also function effectively as part of a team.
  • Self-directed; takes initiative; sets and achieves goals, resourceful; goal oriented, requires minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical ability
  • Clear, professional, and diplomatic communication skills, including verbal, written and listening skills
  • Detail oriented with outstanding organizational and scheduling skills
  • Polished professional demeanor and appearance
  • Consistently demonstrates enthusiasm and optimism

Additional requirements:

  • 4 yr. college degree required
  • Ability to understand/read AutoCAD floor plans and furniture drawings.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook and Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
