Description
Under the direction of the AV Field Integration Supervisor the Audiovisual Service Technician is responsible for performing onsite and in-house technical support on AV Systems and components. The Service Technician is also responsible for completing all required documentation.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site maintenance and phone support to resolve reported issues with AV systems
- Meet client expectations for support of installed systems and AV technologies
- Update service tickets and preventative maintenance forms by email at the completion of each visit
- Complete all testing and documentation in a thorough and detailed manner
- Provide equipment and completed forms to helpdesk for all service and preventative maintenance visits in a timely manner
- Document all system changes by marking up existing CADs and provide copies to the helpdesk and engineering for updating of electronic as-builts
- Professional and courteous conduct towards all employees at client location
- Read schematic diagrams and design drawings
- Work with Helpdesk to coordinate on-site service visits and scheduling conflicts
- Install cabling and equipment/systems at client sites
- Provide coverage an average of one week per month of the 24x7 support for clients with 24x7 support contracts
- Adhere to the established Departmental Methodologies and Policies and Procedures
- Promote a continuous quality improvement effort to enhance the services provided to clients and other Red Thread staff by demonstrating positive attitudes and actions through a display of courtesy, congeniality, cooperation, initiatives, sensitivity, professionalism, and continued professional development
- Attend variety of meetings as required or directed
- Performs other similar duties as required or directed
Position Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working with AV systems with at least 1 year in a troubleshooting capacity
- Ability to think and work independently to meet necessary deadlines
- InfoComm CTS Certification
- Valid Driver’s license (required to utilize company vehicle)
- Must be familiar with terminating all AV cable and connector types
- Must be familiar with Crestron, AMX, Extron, ClearOne, BiAmp, Polycom and Cisco video equipment
- Must have experience using Crestron Toolbox for troubleshooting Crestron control systems
- Crestron DMC Certification desired
- Comfortable using windows based operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting processes
