Our first quarter membership meeting provided information from the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce's talent attraction expert Jeff Schaaf on the Talent Connection Portal and Navigators, Erica Fischbach discussed Junior Achievement of Northwestern Ohio's internship programing, Nichole M. Fifer, PhD, MPA with the Bowling Green State University's Center for Regional Development spoke about Advancing Regional Talent in Smart Manufacturing, and Nate Ward, CGBP,CITP provided information about support for Ohio's exporters. I'm at the quarterly NOMA (NW Ohio Mfg Alliance) meeting. Building the manufacturing industry starts with talent development and Ohio is making a strong effort to expand the manufacturing trades. Megan Stretavski is doing a great job with this group and expanding interest in bringing people into the industry. I had the privilege of announcing the award Willis Machinery Co. received from ACU-RITE and speaking about how our machines are used.
