The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is funding the project through the Northwest Florida Water Management District. The project is part of a comprehensive program to remove all wastewater discharges within the Wakulla Springs Basin. Construction began in Phase 4 of Wakulla Gardens in Summer 2023.
In addition, as part of the Sewer Collection Project, the paving of streets within Phase 4 of Wakulla Gardens is anticipated to begin after construction is complete. The local One Cent Sales Tax Road Paving Fund will fund the paving project.
Property owners within the project area will receive a letter in the mail in the coming weeks regarding the project. The letter will include an Access Agreement, FAQs document, and a letter to the homeowner from County Administrator David Edwards (all documents mailed to homeowners within the project area can be found in the document center at the bottom of this webpage).
Wakulla County conducted an informational public meeting about the project on May 16, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Wakulla County Community Center, Crawfordville Room, 318 Shadeville Road, Crawfordville, FL 32327. The meeting provided the opportunity for homeowners to hear directly from Wakulla County officials and representatives and ask questions about the project.
Homeowners in the project area are encouraged to attend the meeting and bring their Access Agreement, which has been mailed to them. The Access Agreement must be notarized. For convenience, a Public Notary will be available at the upcoming meeting.
