Lodging
During an MDT visit, volunteers traditionally do a homestay with a community member. By staying at a community member's home, volunteers get an enriched experience, deeper interaction with community members, and special insight into the community.

If you are interested in volunteering but are not willing to do a homestay due to COVID-19, accessibility, or other concerns, you may elect to stay in a nearby hotel. If two volunteers share a room, AIA Minnesota will cover the full cost. If a volunteer opts to have their own room, AIA Minnesota will reimburse the volunteer for half the expense. (Hotel room costs are only covered or partially reimbursed for the nights of May 2, 3, and 4, 2024)

Please note that volunteers may need to stay in a nearby city, depending on hotel availability in the Cuyuna Lakes region.
Which lodging option would you prefer? *
If you are interested in a homestay but only under other specific conditions, please share them here (e.g. no pets; house must be ADA accessible, everyone must be vaccinated against COVID-19, etc.).
If you are interested in sharing a hotel room with another volunteer, please share any information that may be relevant.

Thank you for filling out this volunteer application!

We will need to be intentional about team makeup for this visit and will review applications based on the community’s requests. The final composition and notification of the visit team is expected to be determined by the week of April 15, 2024.

Volunteers on the visit team will need to sign an additional AIA Minnesota waiver. If you would like to preview this waiver, please contact Amber Allardyce, CAE.

A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
