HEW Parlor & Chophouse

Went here last night with my friend to help her with a project and ended up having way too much fun. The steak was the best steak I've had so far in pinellas county. No joke! The server we had was really charismatic and engaging and took great care of us. I also absolutely love the location as well as the decor of the restaurant itself. The vibes were awesome and I appreciated the free valet.

Attended the spooky tea event.

The service was amazing. Very attentive and made sure I had enough tea.

My favorite was the Evil Punch. It was like a fall sangria with cumquats and grapes and apples. 10/10

The scones were also tasty. I would have preferred a bigger portion. I enjoy the raygu beef and bacon jam. The bun tasted a little stale. The red velvet cake was good and the cookies were also enjoyable.

I would go back again.

Comfortable chairs and nice atmosphere.

Comfortable restaurant in our hotel & we had vouchers. It was very quiet at nine in the morning. Service was friendly and attentive.

Hubby ordered wheat berry French toast with mascarpone & berries. I ordered the French breakfast that our waitress said is the cutest breakfast. Breakfast came out quickly & was delicious. Fruits we're very sweet & the French toast was awesome.

Came here for Valentine's date. Great cozy restaurant in a nice boutique hotel. My one complaint was that it was difficult getting a reservation online or calling and I needed to email them. Luckily Chris Bouton was terrific and very responsive. I was able to get a reservation through him. Wait staff here was also excellent.

Food was very good. Girlfriend loved the pheasant special. I was torn between a fish and the steak ultimately opting for a filet mignon. I saw another table get a Caesar salad and had to get it. They have these amazing ciabatta croutons that make it so amazing. I usually just make Caesar at home and refuse to order it since it's so cheap but it was worth it here.

Highly recommend Hew Parlor and Chophouse!

HEW is located on the first floor of the Fenway Hotel which is along Edgewater Dr. just south of downtown Dunedin. It is a beautifully restored 1920's era building. This is not a large restaurant so I would recommend reservations.

For an appetizer, we opted for their Crab & Artichoke Dip. It came with a goodly amount of grilled garlic naan that was wonderful. I would definitely order this again.

For entrées, we ordered two of their daily specials: the 'Chef's Cut' Prime Ribeye and a Duck Breast Special. For side dishes, we ordered the Roasted Brussel Sprouts and the French Onion Mac & Cheese. The Brussel sprouts were fine but the star was the mac & cheese. The Prime ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare. It was one of the best steaks I've had in a very long time. It was tender and delicious. It came with an almond chimichurri sauce that was OK and not too overpowering. The duck special was wonderful, too. It came with a great sauce. It also came with what tasted like pesto gnocchi.

For dessert, we both tried the Baked Alaska. It wasn't flamed table side. It had a core of orange sherbet and pound cake with a Limoncello meringue. It was OK but I would probably order something else on my next visit.

Overall, we had an awesome time. The service was speedy and friendly. The venue was stunning. As a heads-up, they only have valet parking.

Made a reservation at HEW about 3weeks ago for Feb 14. Told the restaurant I was bringing a friend to celebrate her birthday, not Valentines. They said they would note it on my reservation. I called on Tuesday, Feb 13, to confirm the reservation and to remind them it was a birthday celebration. Robin, who I spoke with, said they would provide a champagne toast for my friend and I to celebrate. Our server DID NOTHING to acknowledge the birthday, however, another server brought champagne to the couple next to us who were celebrating their anniversary.
Fine dining is not just about the meal, it's also about the dining experience. My dining experience at the HEW last night was hugely disappointing.

Great food! Sushi appetizers followed by the Hew burger, scallops dinner, petit filet dinner and children's Pizza.

The restaurant is in the Fenway Hotel, which is a phenomenal building just off the water in Dunedin. It has a famous rooftop bar which would seem to be the attraction because the restaurant was not even 1/3 full. I have not visited the bar but friends tell me it is an excellent place to sit, have drinks and watch the sunset.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel as we have friends in the area. One morning, we were still tired from traveling so we decided to just have breakfast in the hotel vs going downtown. Having said that, we want to give a big shout out to our server, Emily!
Breakfast is not the most joyous time in the morning but Emily brought her fantastic attitude and smile and just made our breakfast time so enjoyable! She is clearly an asset! And, btw, our breakfast was high quality and suburb as well!

Had New Year's Eve dinner at HEW. The food and service were amazing. Coral was great! We will be back.

Chef, Mike and Justin and server Emily are just the best!! They made her experience so wonderful, and they were extremely great with my five year old, showing him how some things are made.

The food was also excellent ! We will be back!
