Join Us In Raising A Healthier Generation Of Kids

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is a Co-Founder and Strategic Partner of PLEZi Nutrition, working behind-the-scenes to guide the company’s mission to be a driver of change and a model for how food and beverage brands can support the health of our next generation.

Hear directly from Mrs. Obama on why she’s excited about the launch of PLEZi Nutrition!

I’ve dedicated so much of my life to helping kids and families lead healthier lives. As First Lady, I built my Let's Move! initiative to rally every sector of society toward this goal. We accomplished some big things during those years, but we’ve still got a long way to go when it comes to children’s health. There’s no mistaking that our country remains in a nutrition-related health crisis.

I’ve watched with concern over the past several years as the health of our kids moved up and down the government’s list of priorities, depending on which party won the White House. My heart broke when the pandemic struck and we saw all those long lines at food banks. And studies are showing that kids aren’t getting enough nutrients like fiber and potassium, and they’re consuming far too much added sugar—with nearly two-thirds of young people consuming sugary drinks on a given day.

So I’ve learned that if you want to change the game on this issue, you can’t just rally support from the outside. You’ve got to get inside. You’ve got to find ways to change the food and beverage industry itself. So that’s exactly what I’m doing.

I’m proud to introduce you to a new company called PLEZi Nutrition. We’re hoping not just to provide healthier and delicious drinks and snacks for kids, but to jumpstart a race to the top that will transform the entire food industry. Because let’s face it, even after everything we accomplished during the White House years, it is still simply too hard for kids to grow up healthy.

So with PLEZi Nutrition, we want to drive the kind of positive change I’ve always hoped to see. We want to set higher standards for how we make and market food and beverages for our kids. We want to help parents get the options they deserve and the information they need to raise healthier kids. And we want to give back, too — it’s why we’ll be investing 10% of profits right back into the broader movement to promote kids' health.

Our first product is a drink called PLEZi for kids ages 6 and up.

We’re starting with a beverage because we know how much concern parents and pediatricians have about sugary drinks. Make no mistake, water and milk—along with whole fruits and vegetables—are still the best options for your kids. And the latest guidelines confirm that kids shouldn’t be regularly drinking anything other than water or milk until they’re at least five years old.

But once kids become school-aged, we all know drinking only water and milk isn’t a reality.

That’s why we created PLEZi as your worry-free alternative—it’s got less sugar, less sweetness, and more nutrients like fiber and potassium than you’ll find in many drinks out there.

And the best part is that it tastes fantastic! Because if it doesn’t taste good, kids won’t go for it.

But this isn’t on one drink or even one company. It’s going to take all of us — business, government, advocates, doctors, parents, and folks like you — doing our part to raise a healthier generation of kids. That’s what this is all about.

So you don’t have to take my word for it. I hope you’ll give it a try and let me know what you think!
