LaGuardia offers SAMPLE of college for recent NYCDOE high school grads

A new program at LaGuardia Community College/CUNY offers a FREE SAMPLE of college for recent NYC DOE high school graduates ('20, '21, '22)

Spots are still available in a new free program at LaGuardia Community College/CUNY in Long Island City, Queens to help New Yorkers whose college plans were derailed by the pandemic. To be eligible, you must have graduated from a NYC public high school with the classes of 2020, 2021, or 2022, and have not enrolled in college.

College and Career Connect (C3 at LaGuardia) is a six-week program designed to show participants that college can be fun, help you get ready for college-level classes (should they choose to enroll), career counseling, and get connected to college resources (e.g., financial aid, housing support, and more) to address any potential barriers to returning to school. C3 students will take one college class (earning 3 credits!). And each C3 will receive peer mentoring from a current LaGuardia student with a demonstrated track record of success.

In essence, C3 at LaGuardia provides a free sample of college. And who doesn’t love a free sample? Participants will get MetroCards and have access to the LAGCC library, recreational facilities (pool, gym, basketball court, etc.), and additional campus resources.
