The City of Clayton is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Dilber as Director of Finance, effective November 29, 2021. Dilber will direct and supervise the financial operation and reporting of all municipal funds including the budget, audit and cash management for the City.

Ms. Dilber joins the City of Clayton after serving as Director of Finance for the City of Maplewood for more than ten years. She has more than twenty years of experience in municipal finance. She replaces Janet Watson, who retired after serving as the City's Director of Finance and Administration for nearly ten years.

“Ms. Dilber has an impressive background in municipal finance and we are excited to have her join our organization,” said City Manager David Gipson. “Her experience in municipal finance will help our community continue to navigate the pandemic and plan for the future.”

“I am delighted to join the City of Clayton’s management team,” said Dilber. “I look forward to contributing to the operation of the City and continuing its tradition of professional financial management.”

Dilber received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Maryville University and her master’s in accounting from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is a certified public accountant and a member of the National Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). Dilber is also a member of the GFOA of Missouri where she serves on the audit committee, and she is the immediate past president of the St. Louis chapter.
