​The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Mrs. Cassandra Walker Suggs as the new principal at Wildwood Middle School

​The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Mrs. Cassandra Walker Suggs as the new principal at Wildwood Middle School, beginning July 1, 2021. Mrs. Walker Suggs replaces Dr. Allison Klouse, who is retiring.Currently, Mrs. Walker Suggs is an assistant principal at Rockwood South Middle School, a position she has held since 2020. Prior to that, she was the Dean of Students at Hickman High School in Columbia, taught both middle and high school for 10 years in the Washington School District, and she also worked for 20 years as an author and television host.Mrs. Walker Suggs earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts from Western Illinois University, a Master of Teaching from Lindenwood University, a Master of TESOL from Southeast Missouri State University, a specialist degree in Educational Leadership Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and she is currently working on her doctoral degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She also holds a certification in School Management and Leadership from Harvard University.“We are very excited to announce that Mrs. Walker Suggs will be the next principal at Wildwood Middle School,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark Miles. “She joined the district as an assistant principal at Rockwood South ​last July and, since then, has made such a positive impression on so many students and staff members at Rockwood South and across our district. Cassandra’s dedication to her job and dynamic personality shine through every day. Her connection with children is evident in every interaction, and she puts everything she has into her role as an educator. We know that she will continue to do amazing things for our students in this new role.”  Mrs. Walker Suggs lives with her husband, Ron, and two sons in Augusta. She also has two grown sons who are married.​
