Scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2023, a new state-of-the-art medical facility coming to New Brunswick’s Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, celebrated a milestone Aug. 2: the topping-off of the 15-story project’s steel frame.

Upon completion, the 229,000-square-foot RWJUH Ambulatory Medical Pavilion will be master-leased to RWJBarnabas Health. Situated in the city’s “health care district,” the AST-developed site will increase regional access to outpatient care.

With a focus on enhancing the patient experience, exam rooms at the facility will be designed to improve clinical practice workflows. It will also include a ground floor lobby with a café and be connected to an adjacent public parking garage.

Torcon Inc. is overseeing construction of the project with architecture and mechanical engineering services provided by Matthew Jarmel of Jarmel Kizel. Mark Orsini of O’Donnell & Naccarato is managing structural engineering and Christian Roche of Langan Engineering is leading civil engineering.

Financing was arranged by JLL Securities, legal land use services were provided by Kelso & Burgess Esqs. and legal transactional services are provided by Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP.
