From the Office of Campus Events and Commencement:
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Commencement season is upon us. As announced, Queens College's 98th Commencement will be celebrated on Thursday, June 2 at 9 am on the Quad. The Baccalaureate Convocation will take place on Tuesday, May 31 at 7 pm in Colden Auditorium. Many departmental events will be held as well, beginning the week of Monday, May 23.

Campus Access for Graduates, Guests, Faculty, and Staff

Students in compliance* with the CUNY COVID-19 vaccination mandate are permitted to bring two guests to attend their Queens College Commencement as well as ceremonial events. We will be distributing access bracelets to each graduate and their two guests; faculty and staff may also receive bracelets to ease access to campus during the Commencement season. All graduates, guests, faculty, and staff attending these events must pick up their bracelets in person on campus. These bracelets will grant individuals access to the Queens College campus from May 25-27 and May 31-June 3. As long as you are wearing a bracelet, you will not need to tap your QCard or show proof of vaccination to enter campus.

When picking up the bracelets, students, faculty, and staff must present their QCards. Guests must present photo ID and proof of vaccination (CDC Card, an Excelsior Pass, or other government-issued proof of vaccination documentation) or a negative PCR test dated within 7 days of the date of campus access. Please note: CUNY testing sites are only for CUNY faculty, staff, and students; guests will need to test elsewhere.

Please see below the dates, times, and locations where bracelets will be distributed:

Arrival to Campus on Commencement Day

We encourage you to arrive early on Commencement day.

The following gates will be open:
  • Main Gate (Kissena Boulevard)
  • Gate 2 (Melbourne Avenue)
  • Gate 3 (Reeves Avenue)

To enter campus, graduating students, guests, faculty and staff need to show their bracelets. If you are picking up your bracelet on Commencement day, you must go to the Kissena Boulevard Gate in front of Goldstein Theatre to pick it up. Please remember to bring your QCard as you need this to pick up your bracelet. If you do not have your QCard, you must present a CLEARED4 pass on your mobile device.

Faculty and staff who do not have a bracelet will need to tap their QCards to enter campus, as usual. If you do not have your QCard, you must present a CLEARED4 pass on your mobile device.

Please be sure to pay attention to your QC emails as the random COVID-19 testing program is ongoing; if you are selected you must test to keep your Cleared4 valid and maintain campus access.

There will be no parking for students on campus.
  • Please note one exception: Students and/or their guests who require ADA parking may park in Field 15N/S if they have proper state or local-issued ADA plates or hang tags.

Angle parking will be available on Melbourne Avenue and Reeves Avenue. Parking meters must be paid when required; check the signage. It is highly encouraged to take public transportation, Uber, Lyft, taxi, or be dropped off by a family member or friend if possible as street parking will be extremely limited and will likely fill up fast.

Parking on Campus on Commencement Day for Faculty and Staff with Valid Parking Decals

Faculty and staff with valid parking decals will be allowed to park on campus. Note: Your regularly assigned field may be unavailable.

Please note the schedule for vehicular traffic:
  • Main Gate (Kissena Boulevard) will be open to vehicular traffic until 8 am.
  • Gate 2 (Melbourne Avenue) will be open to vehicular traffic until 8:30 am.
  • Gate 3 (Reeves Avenue) will be open to vehicular traffic all day.

Please note the following parking directions:
  • You may park in your assigned field or anywhere there is space in Fields 6, 5, or 14.
  • If you have a decal for Field 1, please use Field 2/7, or if no room, use Fields 6, 5, or 14.
