MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee student-athletes continue to score high marks in the classroom and during the Fall 2021 semester posted a collective 3.408 grade-point average, despite still dealing with an unpredictable learning environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
That followed up the Spring 2021 term where Panther student-athletes notched a 3.376 GPA.
This marks the 43
rd consecutive semester – now spanning over 20 years – that Milwaukee student-athletes have recorded a GPA of 3.0 or better, as well as the 14
th straight with a 3.20 GPA or higher.
During the Fall 2021 semester, 122 Panthers compiled a GPA of at least 3.8, while 55 of those achieved a perfect 4.0 mark.
"This remains an unprecedented time in the classroom and our student-athletes continue to respond in impressive fashion. Their efforts continue to truly impress and it never gets old talking about their hard work, as well as the hard work of the coaches and our academic support staff," Director of Athletics
Amanda Braun said. "To perform like this in the classroom for 43 straight semesters is truly amazing."
Led by the tennis program, which posted an impressive 3.818 GPA during the recently completed semester, seven of 13 Milwaukee teams achieved a GPA of at least 3.40 for the term.
Volleyball (3.722), women's basketball (3.693), women's track & field (3.611), women's soccer (3.606), women's cross country (3.543), and women's swimming & diving (3.425) also posted GPA's of 3.40 or higher.
Overall, MKE student-athletes collectively carry a cumulative GPA of a 3.466.
