MILWAUKEE – C.J. Wilbourn of the Milwaukee men's basketball team was named to this year's Horizon League All-Academic team, announced today by the league office.
Wilbourn, a sophomore Information Science Technology major, carries an impressive 3.898 GPA in the classroom. He has made 12 starts in 15 appearances this season, averaging 5.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
Wilbourn is shooting 50 percent (33-of-66) from the floor and 81 percent (17-of-21) from the line this winter. The Dean's List member started 30 of 31 games last year as a freshman and was named to Horizon League All-Freshman Team. He is the first men's basketball player to receive the prestigious honor since Tony Meier in 2012.
To be eligible for the Horizon League All-Academic team, student-athletes must participate in 50 percent of the team's overall games, have completed one year at the school, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
