Staff Promotion Announced For Van Sistine

MILWAUKEE – Andy Van Sistine has been promoted to Assistant Director of Academic Services in the Milwaukee Athletic Department, announced today by Associate Director of Athletics for Academic Services Clare Faurote.
 
Van Sistine's main role is to provide comprehensive academic support services for the sports of men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball, and baseball.
 
He also monitors student-athletes regarding NCAA rules for satisfactory progress towards degree completion requirements and serves as the liaison to Northwestern Mutual to create career & professional development events, such as our department's annual Elevator Pitch Competition.
 
Lastly, Van Sistine organizes and instructs the ED PSY 101 course, Success in Academic & Athletics and oversees and trains Academic Enhancement interns.
 
He was first hired as an academic advisor for the MKE Athletic Department in August of 2015.
 
Originally from Green Bay, Van Sistine arrived at Milwaukee after earning his Master of Science in Education degree at Purdue with a focus on mathematics curriculum and instruction. While with the Boilermakers he worked in academic services, assisting with the tutoring program and advising student-athletes in football and women's tennis.
 
Prior to his time at Purdue, Van Sistine spent four years teaching algebra and geometry at Brown County High School in Nashville, Indiana.
 
Van Sistine earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education degree from Wisconsin in May of 2009.
