MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewing Company, in conjunction with Milwaukee Athletics, is set to introduce a Panther Pilsner beer to celebrate the partnership of the two area institutions.
 
The "MKE Panther Pilsner" is a true Pilsner made with Saaz Hops and Briess Barley Malt that produces a smooth and easy drinking lager that is very refreshing.
 
"I have always believed in connecting with fans by giving them something special that they are passionate about," MKE Brewing Company CEO Dave Hock said. "Milwaukee sport fans are passionate about their teams and passionate about beer, so let's give them a Panther Pilsner that honors Milwaukee Athletics and supports a good cause."
 
The Panther Pilsner idea was hatched by Hock and Shea Hansen of LEARFIELD in the MKE Brewing tap room at a Panther pregame basketball party.
 
"We were talking about how Milwaukee Brewing can deepen our connections to UWM alumni and elevate our sponsorship with the fans," Hock said. "The Panther Pilsner idea was born from that conversation and brought to life by the whole MKE Brewing team, LEARFIELD, and Milwaukee Athletics."
 
From that point, Director of Athletics Amanda Braun helped move the process along so that the concept was brought to fruition, through the work that current Panther Athletics staff members and University leadership put into this concept to make it a reality.
 
The "Panther Pilsner" will be available in 12-pack cans. The beer, an officially licensed product, was developed in partnership with UWM's Office of Licensing and Enforcement and the University's exclusive licensing agent, CLC. A portion of the proceeds will be directed to the Milwaukee Athletics Diversity and Inclusion fund and to funding scholarships for UWM students.
 
Milwaukee Brewing is very familiar with developing beers for local companies and events. Hock pitched Harley-Davidson to make them a custom collaboration beer for its 115^th Anniversary. The Harley Davidson Milwaukee Lager was a huge hit during their 2017 Rally in Milwaukee.
 
From the Wisconsin-made Sprinkman Brewhouse, to Bries Barley Malt from Chilton, and Quad Graphics packaging, Milwaukee Brewing is all about supporting local companies and their employees. Milwaukee Brewing has always believed in supporting local companies, charities, events, and the Wisconsin community at large.
 
Several UWM alumni, including Kristine Kelnhofer at Milwaukee Brewing, and Beechwood Sales Managers, former Panther student-athletes Mike McNabb and Tom Olejnik, will play an important role in selling the Panther Pilsner in Wisconsin.
