MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Last week, the Milwaukee Athletics department teamed up with its partners at Next Door Foundation and other local companies to help reach the goal of 1,400 miles walked virtually during the foundation's Walk for Children.
 
The Next Door Foundation provides essential programs to continue children's learning and provide success in school and the community but with the COVID-19 pandemic, all on-site programs were suspended.
 
The goal of the Walk for Children was 1,400 miles – one for each child at the foundation. Over 40 teams and 530 total people registered and combined to walk over 8,000 miles from May 18 to May 22. The Milwaukee Athletics department registered a team and had over 70 participants which helped raise over $1,800, fourth among all teams registered.
 
Panther fans, student-athletes, coaches, staff, and alumni participated in the virtual walk and along with other companies and members of the community, helped Next Door raise over $75,000 during the Walk for Children.
