Co-president retiring from O’Reilly Automotive

Jeff Shaw, O’Reilly Automotive Inc.'s (Nasdaq: ORLY) co-president and chief operating officer, is exiting the company.

Shaw is scheduled to retire in early 2022 after more than 33 years working with the Springfield-based auto parts retailer, according to a news release.

“Jeff is an outstanding leader and mentor, and he has been a critical part of our company’s incredible success and profitable growth during his tenure," said Greg Johnson, co-president and CEO, in the release. "Jeff has been a champion of executing the company’s promote-from-within philosophy, and he has personally trained and mentored many of O’Reilly’s current senior leadership team, including identifying and preparing for his own retirement and succession."

Brad Beckham, O'Reilly Automotive's executive vice president of store operations and sales, is slated to become chief operating officer upon Shaw's retirement. Brent Kirby, the company's executive vice president of supply chain, also will take on some of Shaw's responsibilities, according to the release.

"While I will miss working with the team every day, I could not be more pleased to have been a part of the company’s past success, and I am extremely confident that Brad is ready to step into his new role," Shaw said in the release. "Brad is an extremely talented and well-respected leader and will ensure O’Reilly’s focus on providing top-notch service to our customers will continue long into the future.”

Shaw was promoted to his current role in 2018 after former CEO Greg Henslee transitioned to leadership on the company's board of directors, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. At O'Reilly Automotive, Shaw started his career as a parts specialist and has held roles including executive vice president of store operations and sales.
