New York’s Menes Rebazzar Kedar is an iconoclastic artist and musician who is doing the kind of original work that could very well make him an industry leader. His latest release is the stunning new album Quantum Helix: Fractal Galaxy, which dropped November 25th, 2019. Kedar has forged a highly individualistic sound that melds hip hop, blues, R&B, soul, rock, classical, and electronic influences into a new, progressive whole that could only come from a fully realized creator. No one else could make his music and he is clearly conceptually ahead of the entire music scene.

From the first moments of the opening song “Zero Sum Game,” Kedar is captivating and hypnotic. He layers his inspirations one on top of the other and close listeners will be able to hear the different schools of sounds Kedar brings together. Pop, rock, and electronic ideas rule this first cut but immediately give way to hip hop, gospel, and poetry on the next song “Inception.” Kedar is unlike anything you’ve heard before his fresh tracks and ideas will keep you focused and listening. His lyrics encompass science, spirituality, art, and music and display a depth of thought not often found in popular culture.

“Heaven Is Here” is a funky, psychedelic, dream pop gem that defies expectations and succeeds famously. “Clouds of Smoke” drives a rock backbeat under stony, electronic atmospherics and “Quantum Helix” is epic, emotive, and spacious. What kind of music is this? You’ll have to spin it and decide for yourself. Kedar has a vitally important album here and it will appeal to the thinking fans of the music world. Anyone who listens will reap a huge reward paid off in genuine creativity and artistic instincts. Highly recommended.
