Developing the Campus Master Plan

Marist is completing an updated Campus Master Plan to align future capital projects with the priorities identified in the Marist 100 Strategic Plan. In this process, we will envision ways to maintain the beauty of campus while also reflecting the increasing diversity and creativity of our community through an infusion of public art, technology, and signage to enhance our sense of place, identity, and wayfinding. We will also investigate opportunities to adopt new technologies and enhance existing ones, to maximize resiliency and efficiency and enable institutional innovation across all academic and operational areas.

Project Schedule

The process began in Spring 2024, and is due to be completed in Winter 2024.

Campus Engagement

How can you get involved?

Throughout the timeline of the project, there will be several opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders to participate in various forms of engagement that will help guide the process in an inclusive, collaborative approach. The workshops, surveys, and other forms of campus engagement will efficiently and effectively provide opportunities for campus and community stakeholders to envision a campus that establishes a sense of community, and attracts a diverse pool of students, faculty, staff, and partners. Planning and design projects are strengthened by the involvement of participants who have a vested interest in the future success of the campuses.

As for the workshops, each involve dynamic facilitation that blends interactive exercises, real-time data, and thought-provoking ideas to generate a comprehensive vision for the plan. These exercises integrate seemingly disparate priorities into logical and realistic plans.

Between May 1st and May 2nd, there will be a series of Big Ideas Workshops taking place on campus to help brainstorm the future vision of the Marist College campus!

What is a Big Ideas Workshop and when will they take place?

Big Ideas Workshops
blend interactive exercises, extensive data, and gaming components to generate “Big Ideas” that ground each campus master site plan in objective data as well as formulate concepts based on aspirations.

Each session will begin with an overview of the consultant team’s (DLR Group) findings about the existing campus, including building conditions and space needs, and an overview of the campus engagement collected during Phase 01. From there, we will then begin to brainstorm ideas for future campus improvements.

No idea is too big so we will encourage everyone to come prepared to share their dreams for the future!

About the Master Plan

Marist is fortunate to have one of the most beautiful and functional learning environments of any college or university. It's superior academic and residential facilities and a world-class technological platform that allow members of our community to learn, connect, engage, and thrive. This is a significant competitive advantage for the College. We will continue to invest in Marist’s physical plant and technological infrastructure, ensuring that they support our broader vision and goals.

To accomplish this, Marist is completing an updated Campus Master Plan, to align future capital projects with the priorities identified in the Marist 100 Strategic Plan.

Throughout the planning process, we will engage with students, faculty, staff, and the community to solicit input, test assumptions, and build campus-wide consensus in the plan.

We look forward to your involvement as we embark on this exciting chapter in Marist’s future.
