Jalisco Receives "Green" Designation for COVID-19 Protocol

Jalisco is one of 29 Mexico states designated “green” by the federal government, meaning all economic and social activities are permitted while taking appropriate precautions. This is part of Mexico’s color code system: green, yellow, orange and red where each color identifies what activities are safe to resume and/or what restrictions are in place.  As the capital of Jalisco, Guadalajara continues to abide by necessary COVID-19 protocol. Notably, Expo Guadalajara has invested more than $1.2 million on equipment and its installment to ensure events held at the conference center are as safe as possible. Some of these measures include stations to wash hands and disinfection tunnels at the entrance of the building. Guadalajara Expo received the GBAC (Global Biorisk Advisory Council®) certification, an international standard to validate good hygiene practices in biosafety matters.

Travel + Leisure Names Mexico 2022 Destination of the Year

In its December 2021/January 2022 issue, Travel + Leisure announced Mexico as the 2022 destination of the year. As many travelers seek destinations with a relaxed atmosphere, wide-open spaces, and plenty of sunlight, Mexico emerged as the perfect vacation. However, there's more to the country than breathtaking beaches and exclusive resorts. Travel + Leisure takes the time to celebrate its regional nuances and less-explored pockets with a series of articles, including several featuring Guadalajara and the surrounding areas:
