New Resource - HIP Brief Presentations
Responding to a voiced need from the FP/RH community, the HIPs Partnership has developed HIP Brief Presentations - adaptations of HIP briefs that are intended to facilitate the sharing of key messages about evidence-based practices in family planning with various audiences. These PowerPoint slides are downloadable, include speaking notes for the presenter, and are fully editable to adapt to user needs. HIP slide decks are now available for several HIPs, with more forthcoming as new and updated briefs are released. Presentations can be found on the HIP Resources page, as well as linked to individual brief pages.

Enabling Environment Expert Selection
The HIPs Partnership recently sent out a call for technical experts to lead updates to the Policy and Leaders & Managers briefs, and to develop a new HIP brief on Strategic Social Accountability. The results of the call for applications for Enabling Environment experts are now in. Out of a field of over 60 global candidates, 20 technical experts were selected after a rigorous vetting process by the HIP co-sponsors: FP2030, IPPF, UNFPA, USAID, and WHO. Did you miss the annual HIP Partners meeting on April 15th? Drawing upon the meeting theme, Reflecting on our Strengths as we Expand our Collaboration, HIP Partner organizations shared their experiences developing HIP products, implementing HIPs in global family planning programs, and highlighted opportunities for disseminating HIP materials.

WHO/IBP Network Implementation Stories - Regional Webinars
As more and more countries across the globe are implementing and scaling up High Impact Practices (HIPs) and WHO Guidelines in family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), projects and programs are gaining valuable insights and lessons learned into what works for their local context. In an effort to share these experiences widely amongst the FP/RH community, the IBP Network hosted a contest calling for field-based program implementation stories. Regionally-based recordings featuring the winners are now available on the HIP website: The implementation stories are available in English and Spanish, with French translations becoming available soon. See What's Trending in FP/RH Programs
Knowledge SUCCESS has just launched FP insight, following a series of four regional co-creation workshops with FP/RH professionals from Anglophone sub-Saharan Africa, Francophone sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and the United States. The HIPs partnership supports this essential tool because it provides a space to engage even more with the HIPs! You can save and share HIP products and resources, create a "Collection" of the HIPs that you reference the most, and share other tools that you use alongside them, facilitating knowledge exchange and sharing with the rest of the community.

"Community Feedback" wanted!
Are you interested in providing feedback on HIP briefs? Are you aware of new peer-reviewed or programmatic evidence that could strengthen existing HIPs? Members of the global family planning and reproductive health community are now invited to submit technical feedback on an ongoing basis. We are currently seeking community feedback on the following HIP Briefs:
- Postabortion Family Planning
- Family Planning Vouchers
- Supply Chain Management
- Immediate Postpartum Family Planning
- Digital Health for Systems

June TAG Update
The HIPs Technical Advisory Group (TAG) held its semi-annual meeting from June 29-July 1, 2021, hosted by WHO. During the virtual meeting, the TAG accomplished its goals of continuing to refine HIP processes and identify priority activities, and review draft HIP materials and make recommendations regarding the strength and consistency of the evidence and adherence to the HIP criteria.
Highlights from the TAG agenda include:
- Updates on progress from the December 2020 TAG meeting
- Review and recommendations to forthcoming HIP briefs/products
- Knowledge, Attitudes and Beliefs (KABs)
- Social Norms
- Couples’ Communication (CC)
- Evaluation of HIP Products Report
- Production & Dissemination (P&D) Team updates
