Obituary of Robert W. Langlois

Robert W. Langlois, age 90, died on October 26, 2023. Born and raised in Dover, NH, Robert formerly lived in Middletown, NY before moving to Washington Twp in 1962. Robert graduated from Dover High School in 1951 and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture from the University of New Hampshire in 1955. Robert's Army career spanned 10 years beginning with ROTC in college and continuing in the Army reserves where he was a 1st Lieutenant. He began his Agricultural agent career in 1956 with Orange County, NY, later working here in Gloucester County, NJ. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of County Agricultural Agents in 1974. Robert retired in 1988 and started his own agricultural consulting firm, fully retiring in 2005. He received the Distinguished Service to New Jersey Agriculture Award by the State Board of Agriculture in 1994. He was a prolific story teller especially when the stories included golf or agriculture. Robert was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pitman. He was predeceased by his wife Marcia (Bennett). Survived by his children Karen (Joseph) Battle, Steven (Karla) Langlois, grandchildren Andrew (Samantha) Battle, Eric (Caitlin) Battle, Roy (Catrina) Langlois, Torey and Samuel Langlois and 4 great grandchildren. Friends may greet the family after 10am on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in the First Presbyterian Church of Pitman, 10 Wildwood Ave, Pitman, NJ 08071. Memorial Service will be at 11am.
