Whitney Curtis

Whitney Curtis was named the Associate Athletic Director of Marketing at Jacksonville University in Sept. 2016. She joined the Dolphins after five years at Longwood where she served in a similar capacity.

Curtis will oversee marketing and promotions for all of JU’s intercollegiate sports, sponsorships, ticketing, licensing and media relations.

After first joining Longwood as an intern, she rose through the administrative ranks before her most recent promotion to assistant athletic director. 

She assisted with marketing and promoting Longwood’s 14 intercollegiate sports teams while contributing to the external landscape of the university. This included: creating and implementing marketing and promotional plans; overseeing branding and licensing for the department and university - including a visual brand identity update for the athletics department; contributing to the increase of ticket sales by 45 percent; overseeing game operations; creating and implementing the kids club and reading incentive program; supervising the student fan group; coordinating mascot responsibilities, and oversight of the student intern program.

Curtis also served as a sport supervisor for Longwood cheerleading.

She is from Midlothian, Virginia, and earned her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech (2009) and her graduate degree from the VCU Center for Sport Leadership (2011).
